Students who take courses during the regular school year can receive accommodation with a short extension provided both the school district and New Jersey Virtual School™ approve of the extension period. Students should log in daily to keep up with their assignments. Courses are open 24/7 and students can work at any time, including weekends, to maintain academic progress.
For summer school students: As a policy, NJVS™ does not permit extensions for summer school students. However, it recognizes extenuating circumstances where a student may need a bit more time.
To request an extension, please submit a request to NJVS™ (at least five days before the end of the semester) by going to help.njvs.org. If approved, you must pay a $100 course extension fee before NJVS™ extends the course.
Please note: Extenuating circumstances do not include family vacation, camp or simply falling behind. Following a review of the request, NJVS™ will notify the student of approval or denial. An extension fee ($100 per course) will apply unless the extension is due to illness and the student provides a doctor's note to the NJVS™ office.
