Before You Register:

  1. When you begin the registration process you will be asked to apply for admissions as a new student:

  2. Make sure to follow directions carefully. There are four steps to registration:

Register as a student

  1. Please note that all fields highlighted yellow are required fields.
  2. Fill out the Personal and Demographic Information section.
  3. You will be asked to enter your email address. Your username and password will be sent to this email address.
  4. Enter your address and phone number.
  5. Under Physical School Information select the district and school that you attend.
  6. Click Save at the bottom of the page to continue
  7. You will be given your username and password on the next page. Please print out this page for your reference. Click Continue

Register parent or guardian

  1. You will be asked to enter your parent or guardian. Click Add New to add a parent or guardian. Click Save at the bottom to save your parent’s or guardian’s information. Click Continue to move on to the next page.
  2. On the next page scroll down to the Prior Education Information section and fill out the form. Click Save and then click Continue.

Admission Agreements

  1. Read the Right to Privacy section. Click Continue when you are done.
  2. Read the Academic Integrity Statement. Click I Agree to agree to the statement. Your agreement will be logged. Click Continue to go to the next page.
  3. Read the Student Code of Conduct/Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). Click I Agree to agree to the statement. Your agreement will be logged. Click Continue to go to the next page.
  4. You are now finished with Admissions. Click on Continue to move on to choosing courses.

Choose Courses

  1. On the left of the page there is a blue menu. Click on Request New Courses.
  2. Read the next page and then click I Have Read and Understand.
  3. Click Select First Course.
  4. Use the drop-down menu to select a subject area. A grid with courses will appear. Click on Select on the left to select a course.
  5. Now select the NJVS Comprehensive Fee course. Click on Select another Course.
  6. On the drop down menu on the next page, select “Student Orientation”
  7. In the grid that appears below, click the “Select” button next to “NJVS Comprehensive Course Fee”
  8. After clicking on Finished Selecting Courses, fill out the Registration Course Survey.
  9. IMPORTANT: When asked “How many credits are you requesting?” select Full Course – 1.0 Credits. (Exception: Health/Life Management Skills and NJVS Comprehensive Course Fee – select 0.5 credits) A Full Course – 1.0 credits selection is equivalent to a full year course. A 0.5 credit designation is equivalent to a half-year course. When finished, click Continue Course Request.
  10. Click on Print Friendly View and Continue Course Request. Print out the information on the next page for your reference. Click Continue Course Request.

Payment Method

  1. Fill in your personal and credit card information. Then click Process Payment
  2. If you are paying by cash or money order please make sure to print out copy and mail full payment to the New Jersey Virtual School

Important Note

  1. During the registration process you will be requested to choose your home school and guidance counselor. If you cannot find the appropriate school and/or counselor, continue the process.
  2. It is important to have counselor approval before a course can begin.
  3. If you did not find your counselor, take a printed copy of your registration to your Guidance department. When it is signed mail or fax application to
